King Soek Lee Meets US Ambassador to South Korea Harry Harris
As part of his imperial duties, King Soek Lee has also met with officials from all levels of South Korean government. Here he is pictured with Harry Harris, the current US Ambassador to South Korea as well as the mayor of Jeonju, Kim Seong-Su. Ambassador Harris visited King Soek Lee in Jeonju on August 6th, 2018 during a two-day visit. Others from the US Embassy in Korea also visited Jeonju for Jeonju World Cultural Week’s American Culture Week.
United States Ambassador to South Korea Harry Harris
Born on August 4th, 1956 in Japan, Harris held a long and distinguished career in the US Navy where he was the highest ranking Japanese American officer and longest serving officer until his retirement. He was also the first Asian American to lead Pacific Command for the US Navy. On June 30th, 2018, Harris became the US Ambassador to South Korea, a position that had been vacant since 2017.
