King Soek Lee Meets Former US Congressman Mike Honda
On October 4th, 2018, during one of King Soek Lee’s travels to the United States, Lee was able to meet former US Congressman Mike Honda in San Francisco. Besides hosting both South Korean and international politicians in his own home or meeting them at events, King Soek Lee is very fond of traveling the world. Chang Young-dal, four time Congressman in South Korea, is also pictured, tying together the historic moment. King Soek Lee is seen wearing his traditional yellow hanbok.
Former United States Congressman Mike Honda
Born June 27th, 1941 in California, Mike Honda, started his professional career as an educator before entering politics later in life. During his early childhood, he was held at a Japanese American internment camp known as Camp Amache. He graduated from San Jose State university where he earned both a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and Spanish as well as a master’s degree in Education. His first elected position was on the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors in 1990, and won his first Congressional election in 2000 eventually becoming Congressman of the district home to the well known Silicon Valley region of California. He served in the United States House of Representatives until 2017.
